Orestis Hotel, Kato Stalos

ORESTIS Hotel is in the middle of the old village of Upper Stalos. It comprises two buildings, one of which used to be on site and was converted into a part of our apartment complex and another one which is entirely new. In between the two buildings there is a garden with a swimming pool and local plants and trees. The old building which was our property in the site was constructed during the Turkish occupation of Crete, probably in the middle 19th century. A typical arch as well as the front garden are an indication of its age and architecture. The rumor is that it served as the residence of the regions Turkish ruler since it was considered the best and most comfortable house in the village. The new building is consisting of twelve apartments was completed on July 1999. It is modern and functional while it respects its surroundings and the physiognomy of the village.
